Position Summary
We are seeking an EHS professional to lead safety and environmental compliance efforts across our construction projects. This role is responsible for developing and implementing site-specific EHS policies, conducting inspections and audits, delivering safety training, and investigating incidents to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This is a hands-on role ideal for a safety-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and is committed to building a strong culture of safety awareness.

Key Responsibilities
EHS Program Implementation
o Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific EHS policies and procedures.
o Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
o Conduct hazard assessments and recommend corrective actions.
o Provide guidance on environmental compliance, such as waste management and stormwater pollution prevention.

Site Inspections and Audits
o Perform regular inspections of the construction site to identify potential hazards.
o Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings and follow up on corrective actions.

Training and Education
o Conduct EHS training sessions for employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
o Develop and deliver toolbox talks and safety meetings.
o Promote a culture of safety awareness through education and engagement.

Incident Response and Reporting
o Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
o Prepare detailed reports and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
o Assist in emergency response planning and drills.

Documentation and Reporting
o Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activities.
o Submit required EHS compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
o Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Collaboration and Communication
o Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and workers to address safety concerns.
o Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, or related field
• 1–3 years of EHS experience; construction industry exposure preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards. OSHA 510 (Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry) a plus
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
• Experience managing subcontractor/trade partner safety compliance, including submittal review and site-specific safety plans
• Actively contributes to a positive jobsite safety culture through visible engagement and peer coaching
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with EHS management software (e.g. SALUS, HammerTech) a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable presenting training material to field personnel
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (~25%)

Ideal Candidate Profile
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
• Hands-on experience conducting site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits
• Skilled in incident investigation techniques, including root cause analysis
• Experience developing and delivering EHS training, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
• Strong understanding of environmental compliance (waste management, stormwater pollution prevention)
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills
• A proactive communicator who can collaborate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven construction environment
• A self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple priorities and job sites
• Committed to building a strong culture of safety awareness through education and engagement
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certified, with First Aid/CPR certification
• Willing and able to travel up to 25% as needed
