Job Summary

McFarland Construction is a leading general construction contractor specializing in healthcare facilities. As a Healthcare Project Superintendent at McFarland Construction, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction of healthcare facilities from start to finish. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare construction, excellent leadership skills, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Project Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of healthcare construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
    • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project goals are met.
    • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that deadlines are met and quality standards are upheld.
  2. Safety Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other relevant safety standards.
    • Provide regular safety training and awareness programs for construction crews, subcontractors, and other personnel.
  3. Quality Control:
    • Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction meets all specifications, codes, and standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to identify and address any quality issues.
    • Work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  4. Communication:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
    • Provide regular progress updates to project managers and other company leadership.
    • Address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  5. ICRA Training:
    • Possess and maintain current Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) training certification.
    • Implement ICRA protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of infection during construction activities in healthcare facilities.
    • Ensure that all personnel working on healthcare projects receive appropriate ICRA training and always follow established protocols.

Education & Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction science, Construction management preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, materials, means and methods.
  • Must be able to manage tight deadlines and the responsibility of accurately forecasting the budget for a project.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, well organized, and able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
  • Jobsite cleanliness.
  • Ability to work in occupied space.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Outlook.
  • Procore Experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
